I booked JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort through AARP/Expedia. Morning of arrival I checked in through Marriott app. Marriott location later that morning sent me an email that they canceled reservation because credit card did not go through. I remembered that I put card “ on hold” because I had left it at a restaurant. Called Marriott right away to give them a different card. They refused to restore the reservation. Said it was my fault for booking with AARP/3rd party! Said they were overbooked. Then they lied to me claiming it was Expedia’s fault for canceling. Expedia told me it was pay at hotel and they did not cancel. My cancellation notice came from front desk of Marriott and my credit card company verified it was Marriott that tried to charge my card. I spoke with two managers including “Meisha” and I was totally disrespected. All this while I was in the midst of driving to that Marriott for check in. What if I had not stopped for breakfast and saw the email?! No call or text??? I am a Marriott frequent traveler for over 40 years and I get stranded and end up finding another hotel at a much higher rate. Marriott will no longer be my hotel of choice. TERRIBLE!

It is an older property attached to a "Vegas Locals" casino. Located in Summerlin (NW Vegas) is about 20-40 mins from airport (depending on traffic). The rooms are large & clean but outdated. The high points are the spa, pool area & Ramparts Buffet (if you like that sort of thing). Platnium Marriott gets discounted full buffet or very limited continental breakfast (at least on the weekends) as amenity choice. The spa was just redone & has tubs, steam, sauna inside,- pool, sauna & steam outside. The outside area is coed & has area to sunbathe. If you stay at hotel all aduts (no kids) get to spa with day pass (for free). There is small work out area in spa, another small gym in the tower that does not have check in. Large pool area with cabanas, nice "Zen" walking trail. There are several resturants on site (Deli, Starbucks, coffee shop, Japanese, etc) The Ramparts buffet in Casino is a good deal & will remind you of the Vegas of yesteryear. Reading the reviews you would think this place was the worst motel 6 on the planet, I thought it was a great option (at the right price).

We went to Vegas for my wife’s birthday. There was a show she wanted to see and a couple of restaurants to visit. We are not big gamblers. This location is stunning and beautiful. Very peaceful, unlike the strip. They have a nice casino, if that’s your thing. We had a top floor room in the spa tower, facing the mountains. We very much enjoyed sitting on our balcony in the evening with a beverage and watching the sunset over the mountains. We did go to the strip twice, an easy 15 minute drive, or easy Uber/Lyft. While we enjoyed a couple of evening trips to the strip, we are glad we didn’t stay down there in all the crowds and noise! Room was nice and was comfortable. The staff even made my wife a hand written birthday card and had a bottle of champagne in the room. She enjoyed it very much, which was the goal of the trip! Close proximity to several nice restaurants outside the resort, as well as stores and other amenities in an upscale part of LV. Felt very safe. Recommend without reservation!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL FOR YOU WEDDING NEEDS. They do not care at all about helping you have a beautiful day. They only care about how much you plan to spend. They are overpriced and not even that pretty of a place. They will price gauge you to make the most they can.
